Our client is looking to hire an experienced perioperative leader to run their General/Gynaecology/Plastics (GGP) theatre team at a busy private surgical hospital in Auckland.

About the Facility

A well-established private surgical hospital in Remuera, Auckland, running a high-volume General, Gynaecology and Plastics theatre list, including a robotics surgery programme.

The Role

This is a Charge Nurse Manager position reporting directly to the Theatre Manager. You will join a stable leadership team of four other Charge Managers and several Theatre Leads, leading a GGP team of around 25 senior RNs and RNFSAs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the GGP theatre nursing team
• Building and overseeing rosters to ensure the unit runs efficiently
• Driving clinical standards, compliance and quality across the floor
• Working closely with the Theatre Manager on unit performance and operations
• Developing and mentoring theatre staff
• Scrubbing as required to support General, Gynaecology and Plastics surgery lists

What You Will Need

• Current NZ registration as a Registered Nurse with a current APC
• At least 5 years' experience scrubbing for General, Gynaecology and Plastics surgeries (robotics experience desirable)
• At least 3 years' experience leading an Operating Theatre team within NZ or a comparable health system (Australia, UK, Ireland)
• Post-graduate qualification in management and/or perioperative practice (desirable)
