Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Brisbane Mon-Fri | Competitve Salary | Free parking

Our client is looking to hire an experienced perioperative leader ready to run their own unit at a busy, fast-paced Brisbane day surgery.

This is a genuine leadership position where your clinical credibility and management ability will be put to good use from day one.


About the Facility

A well-established private day surgery in central Brisbane, running a high-volume theatre list across gastroenterology, gynaecology, plastics and urology. The pace is real, the lists are full, and the site needs a leader who can run it end to end.


The Role

This is a Nurse Unit Manager position reporting directly to the Director Of Nursing. You will be accountable for clinical standards, staffing and day-to-day theatre performance.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the theatre nursing team across a range of surgical specialties
  • Building and overseeing rosters to ensure the unit runs efficiently
  • Driving clinical standards, compliance and quality across the floor
  • Working closely with the DON on unit performance and operations
  • Developing and mentoring theatre staff.
  • Scrubbing and scouting as required to support the list


What You Will Need

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Proven experience in a NUM, ANUM or senior perioperative leadership role
  • Solid scrub and scout experience across mixed specialties (gastro, gynae, plastics or urology highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and run a unit at pace in a high-volume day surgery environment
  • Confidence in rostering, staff management and theatre coordination
  • A hands-on, practical leadership style
  • Full eligibility to work in Australia
