Permanent Full time or Part time available

Are you the person who keeps theatre moving when the pressure is on?

We’re looking for an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse ready to step into a key floor coordination role within a busy private hospital theatre environment.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows perioperative services inside out, can read the floor quickly, support the team in real time, and keep patient flow running safely and smoothly.

The Opportunity

As Perioperative Floor Coordinator, you’ll be the central point of coordination across the perioperative floor, helping ensure the day runs efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of patient care.

You’ll work closely with theatre teams, clinical leaders, surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary staff to support daily operations, resolve issues as they arise, and create a calm, organised environment for both patients and staff.

This is a great next step for a senior perioperative nurse who enjoys leadership, problem-solving, and being right where the action is.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating patient flow across a busy perioperative environment
  • Supporting theatre staff throughout the day to keep lists moving safely
  • Providing hands-on leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the nursing team
  • Helping manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Supporting safe clinical practice in line with perioperative standards
  • Contributing to a positive, capable, and team-focused theatre culture
  • Working with senior leaders to support continuous improvement across the department

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Full working rights for Australia
  • At least 5 years’ perioperative nursing experience
  • Strong theatre coordination, communication, and organisational skills
  • Confidence leading teams in a busy clinical environment
  • A strong understanding of perioperative safety, governance, and best practice
  • Knowledge of ACORN standards and relevant clinical requirements
  • A calm, practical approach when priorities change quickly
  • Confidence using hospital systems and clinical programs

Highly Regarded

  • Previous leadership or management experience
  • Experience stepping into NUM, ANUM, or similar senior nursing duties
  • Instrument/circulating nursing experience
  • Anaesthetics and/or PACU experience
  • Exposure to rostering, staffing, or human resource processes

Why This Role?

This is not a back-office leadership role. You’ll be visible, involved, and central to the daily rhythm of theatre.

You’ll join a well-established private hospital environment with a strong surgical focus, supportive senior leadership, and genuine investment in professional development. The team values clinical excellence, collaboration, and people who can bring steady leadership to complex days.

What’s On Offer

  • Full-time or permanent part-time options
  • Senior perioperative coordination role
  • Supportive and experienced theatre team
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements where possible
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Wellbeing and employee support initiatives
  • Paid parental leave
